Why You May Need a Copy of Your IMM1000

  • Required for Canadian Pension Plan (CPP) and Old Age Security (OAS) applications to prove residency duration.
  • Some countries mandate their citizens to provide a copy of their IMM1000 when renewing their passport in Canada.

While it is no longer required to apply for Canadian citizenship, it must be presented at the citizenship oath ceremony to confirm your transition from permanent resident to citizen.
